The reason I started listening to NIN

I’ve listening to techno music all my life, Daft Punk, and Avicii were my first, I can’t explain the feeling it gives me, the relaxing beats of lo-fi, the pump of synthwave, the dance tunes of EDM, it just hits different for me, Derezzed and one more time by Daft Punk, Alone By Marshmello, Faded by Alan Walker, all of them have become part of my childhood in some way, but none more than the Tron franchise, (until recently) a discontinued Disney duology (say that ten times fast) that consisted of two movies spread apart by twenty-eight years, the first one being a decent 80s movie with visuals that aged like Caesar salad, and the other being the best movie of all time (no this isn’t a subject I’m going to debate). The absolute masterpiece of a musical score in Tron: Legacy, being done by the legendary duo, Daft Punk, with the crown Jewel being the previously mentioned Derezzed song. It's been fifteen years since the last tron movie, wait… Nevermind, last week, Tron Ares released (and a friend of mine did a review which I highly recommend).

The thing is for the musical score they couldn’t get Daft Punk because in 2018 they disbanded, so what do we do now?

They were the only… NINE INCH NAILS (aka NIN), a band that according to their spotify profile have been active since the 90s and for about ten years, it was just one, guy, (Trent Reznor, my respects), the band had its experience in film scoring, so they were the obvious choice, but they were the good choice? Let’s find out.

(I then proceeded to watch the movie)

Nevermind the score in this movie is absolutely glorious, it feels like the natural evolution on what Daft Punk did with the soundtrack of legacy, the crown jewel for Ares is as alive as you need me to be, and it sounds very different from Derezzed, but instead creates a good contrast, and it’s exactly what it needs to be, I’ve been addicted to this soundtrack for days now, and I’m curious to see what the band has in the rest of its repertoire.
